Magic is all around us. We are surrounded by it everyday. But you have to slow down in order to see it. Watching the pink and orange colors of the slowly rising sun. Listening to the birds singing with joy for a new day. The smell of homemade chicken soup simmering on the stove. And the amazing capabilities of our bodies; just look at the tremendous amount of things our hands alone can do – type, write, open a bottle, paint, caress and hug, clap, fix a meal and more!
Magic is really a way of thinking. It is the view that nothing in the world should be taken for granted. The flickering dance of flames in a fire or the process of instant communication across the world via the Internet are both magical. Watching children play, sharing a kiss, climbing a tree, or growing a garden.
I’ve been captivated lately by the magic of the trees. Watching them change colors from green to yellow, orange and red has captured my attention. I have noticed the variety of size and shape of the leaves, the color and texture of the bark, and the myriad of creatures that live in or around them. It must be magic that there are so many. How could there be a practical reason alone for the huge assortment of beautiful trees. Why don’t they all change to the same color? Why do some not drop their leaves at all? Why so many shapes and sizes? Magic, the answer is magic.
When you see the world this way it becomes a beautiful place. For the past two days I have been restless, bored, sad and melancholy. Yet, I was able to see and enjoy the beauty all around me. And I was able to share it with all of you. That is magic. Thoughts and ideas are the most fleeting type of magic. Coming and going in a flash of inspiration. Thanks for letting me share my magic with you. Now go have a magical day!
I can’t resist mentioning It’s a Magical World. We’re definitely on the same wavelength!
